You have to worry when Tim Berners-Lee says things like:
Let’s see whether the United States is capable as acting according to its important values, or whether it is, as so many people are saying, run by the misguided short-term interested of large corporations.
Part of me thinks: will this just affect the US? Perhap it wouldn’t affect everyone straight away, but yes it would, and badly. The ‘meatier’ discussion was from his original post.
You can find funnier takes on the situation, but it’s the first time I’ve though something like this could actually change people’s day to day use of the ‘net.
